Some trim levels change by the year, but others have been standard such as the Sport, Rubicon, and Sahara trims. The 2023 model year comes with nine different trim levels, plus the hybrid 4xe model option that’s available on four different trims.

No matter which Wrangler trim level you choose, there are a few features that come standard. One is the Trail Rated badge. While some Wrangler models are built for serious off-roading enthusiasts, every trim level is technically off-road-capable. The Trail Rated badge means that each Wrangler trim has been tested for articulation, ground clearance, maneuverability, traction, and water fording. All Wrangler trims also include removable tops, doors, and windows; the trim differences simply indicate which kind of top you’ll get. The 2023 Sport

The Wrangler sport is the base-level trim, meaning it’s as low as you can go on the trim lineup. Despite this, it still includes great standard features, such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone connectivity, a Command-Trac 4×4 system, and a seven-inch Uconnect touchscreen. It also has handy standard off-roading features like front tow hooks, skid plates, and Dana solid front and rear axles. The Sport trim comes with the Zipperless Sunrider Soft Top, but you can pay to upgrade to the hardtop option.

The 2023 Wrangler Sport has 17-inch black steel wheels and all-season tires and comes in 20 different exterior paint colors. It’s available in either two-door or four-door options and the following four top upgrades: the Black Three-Piece Hardtop, the Mesh Sunbonnet Top, the Solid Sunbonnet Top, and the Sunrider for Hardtop by Mopar.

The 2023 Willys Sport

The new Willys Sport trim has everything that the Sport has to offer, plus some cool off-roading features. It has 17-inch black aluminum wheels with 32-inch mud terrain tires, Rubicon shocks and rock rails, and all-weather floor mats. It has the Trac-Lok Limited Slip Rear Differential to help maintain traction in slippery areas, specifically muddy off-road trails. This model comes in the same ten exterior color options but has the Willys signature black front grille, hood decal, and 4×4 swing gate sticker. The Willys package is known for its impressive off-roading capability, paired with heavy-duty off-roading gear and an available Xtreme Recon Package with 35-inch tires for additional ground clearance.

The 2023 Sport S

The Sport S is a more feature-friendly take on the regular base Sport trim. This one has standard power locks and windows, heated power mirrors, and automatic headlamps. You can add on additional upgrades like LED fog lights and headlights, a larger 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment center, and a premium audio system. It includes a standard hardtop and six different Jeep top options, including the Premium Black Sunrider Soft Top and Dual Top.

The 2023 Willys

A great introduction off-roading, the 2023 Willys Wrangler has everything that the Willys Sport trim does, including the available Xtreme Recon Package, but better. Its 32-inch mud tires are Firestone brand, and it has standard LED fog lamps and headlights. Since the Willys Sport is built off the base Sport trim, it doesn’t include power windows and doors and has a smaller infotainment screen. The full Willys trim, however, includes more tech features and standard perks.

The 2023 Rubicon

Speaking of off-roading, it’s time to take a look at the all-terrain master, the Wrangler Rubicon. This one gets some major upgrades for both capability and tech. It runs on the Rubicon-exclusive Rock-Trac 4×4 System, which has a 4:1 low range and 100:1 crawl ratio, made specifically for rock climbing and treacherous terrain. The new Rubicon has steel rock rails to protect the body from off-roading debris, locking front and rear differentials, and an electronic sway bar disconnect. Like the Willys trims, the Xtreme Recon Package is also available for the Rubicon.

Tech-wise, the Sky One-Touch Power-Top becomes available, plus a standard Uconnect 4C NAV with an 8.4-inch touchscreen and premium audio. You can choose from two different wheel options, 17-inch machined wheels with black pockets or 17-inch machined black-painted wheels.

The 2023 Sahara

The 2023 Sahara trim is best-suited for everyday drivers, thanks to a body-colored hardtop and fender flares, larger 18-inch wheels, and an available safety group package. You can add premium vinyl-trimmed seating and, of course, the Sky One-Touch Power-Top. This one also includes the larger 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment center. It also has handy convenience features like remote proximity keyless entry and a premium audio system. The Sahara is a four-door-only model.

The 2023 Sport RHD

A step up from the Sport S, the Sport RHD comes with more standard features, including deep-tinted windows and a black freedom hardtop. Power windows and doors, remote keyless entry, and heated power mirrors all come standard on this model. Most importantly? RHD stands for “right hand drive,” ideal for mail carriers and specific professions that require this feature. It’s got standard all-terrain tires to help you confidently complete your route.

The 2023 High Altitude

The High Altitude is another Wrangler trim that’s great for everyday travels, with a body-colored hardtop and fender flares, plus door handles, mirrors, and bumpers. This sleek and shiny trim has 20-inch aluminum wheels, Nappa leather-trimmed interior, and leather-wrapped instrument panel bezel with Caramel stitching, and a standard Premium LED lighting package. The High Altitude also has several standard safety features, including Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path Detection, ParkSense Rear Park Assist, and Proximity Keyless Entry. Unlike many other trims, it comes with only five exterior color options, including Hydro Blue.

The 2023 Rubicon 392

We’ve got the most powerful beast: the 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392. Of course, this one includes everything that the regular Rubicon offers, but a lot more. It has a 6.4-liter V8 HEMI engine that produces 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, meaning that it can go from 0 to 60 in just 4.5 seconds. Thanks to its suspension and articulation, this model can rock crawl better than any other Wrangler before it.

It also has some cool, unique features like Hydro Glide Air Induction for a cooler engine and enhanced water protection and black leather-trimmed seats with a custom Rubicon 392 logo. Dual-exhaust with Performance Mode is there to enhance the already loud and powerful V8 HEMI engine’s sound.

The 2023 4xe (And Available Trims)

Finally, we’ve got the 4xe model. This is the Jeep Wrangler’s hybrid (PHEV) option that’s only available in three trims. It uses both battery power and gasoline to reach up to 49 MPGe while still maintaining Jeep’s impressive off-roading capabilities. Reach up to 470 pound-feet or torque output, drive through up to 31.5 inches of water thanks to a water-sealed battery pack, and rep the most eco-friendly Trail Rated Wrangler badge currently available.
