The Wagoneer, a name steeped in nostalgia and adventure, is set to embark on an exciting journey into the future. As Jeep and automotive enthusiasts eagerly anticipate this iconic nameplate’s next move, imaginations are running wild about what the next Wagoneer for sale might offer. The Wagoneer holds a special place in the hearts of many, and for good reason. The Wagoneer has become synonymous with adventure and is known for its rugged capability, timeless design, and unmatched versatility. With its return after a 30-year break, the Wagoneer is set to pave the way for a new chapter for Jeep.

2022 was the first year the Wagoneer graced our roadways since it was forced to take a backseat to some of Jeep’s other icons. While the re-entry of the Wagoneer onto the scene was moving enough, it is what the future holds that seems to be even more groundbreaking. With a push into the electrifying world of hybrid and all electric variants, Jeep has done well to keep up and now that means introducing an electric Wagoneer.

The Electrified Jeep Lineup

Jeep has done a fantastic job incorporating new with tradition in their hybrid lineup. Offering options like the Jeep Wrangler 4xe has proven that off-road prowess and hybrid power mix quite nicely. The Jeep Wrangler 4xe combines the legendary off-road capability of the Wrangler with the efficiency and performance of a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. With an advanced hybrid powertrain, the Wrangler 4xe delivers seriously impressive torque, instant acceleration, and enhanced off-road capability that keeps the Jeep at the front of the pack.

Jeep has continued adding to the hybrid options available, creating 4xe options for the Grand Cherokee as well. The Grand Cherokee 4xe represents the next evolution in luxury and sustainability. With its plug-in hybrid powertrain, the Grand Cherokee 4xe delivers exceptional performance, efficiency, and refinement. With advanced technology features and luxurious amenities, the Grand Cherokee 4xe offers a premium driving experience without compromising on sustainability.

It is difficult to find flaws in either of these reborn classics. The hybrid technology has unlocked potential many didn’t even realize wasn’t being fulfilled. With the power behind the hybrid models, torque and horsepower is off the charts. With so much going for the hybrid, it isn’t hard to imagine what will come from a fully electric Jeep model and what the future holds for the Wagoneer.

The Jeep Wagoneer S

A first of its kind, the Jeep Wagoneer S is shattering everything we once thought possible. With the future of the Jeep brand, the Wagoneer S is defying expectations and pushing the boundaries of the automotive industry. Jeep has yet to go fully electric until now, and it is thrilling to think of what possibilities await.

The Wagoneer is expected to maintain the flash and flair of the previous Wagoneer but with a more modern twist. The exterior looks like something out of a futuristic sci-fi film, with LED lighting drawing your attention to the front and replacing a traditional grille that has very little purpose in an EV. It maintains the overall aesthetic of the Wagoneer while creating a sleeker and more refined profile that allows the Wagoneer S to exude sophistication.

Inside, it is expected that there will be display upon display, driving home the futuristic appeal of Jeep’s first entirely electric vehicle. Rather than an infotainment display in the center and a driver’s informational display behind the wheel, it would seem that there will also be a display on the front passenger side. The purpose of this display is still conjecture, but it appears that its purpose is to keep your co-pilot connected and entertained throughout your travels.

Thanks to the electrification process, the Wagoneer is expected to see a bump in power, potentially offering up to 600 hp, and designed to dominate the road and propel the SUV forward with a 0 to 60 time of 3.5 seconds. This is all while taunting the traditional gas-powered beasts with as much as 400 miles of range on a single charge. The possibilities seem endless with a beast of this kind, letting you easily hit the road for a weekend getaway or the drag strip to show off the only electric SUV there.

The Traditional Wagoneer

Despite all the buzz about the Wagoneer S, it would seem that the traditional engine Wagoneer won’t be retired for the foreseeable future. This is a good thing since the Wagoneer has amassed a decent-sized fan club. The electric version is expected to be close to six figures, and not everyone wants to spend that kind of dough. With so much energy going into the production of the Wagoneer S, it is likely that the Wagoneer itself won’t see many changes, if any.

Since the Wagoneer was especially all-new for the 2022 model year, there seems very little need to do an overhaul at this time. The Wagoneer is far from stale, offering plenty to love. One of the most appealing elements of the Wagoneer is its sheer size, offering three spacious rows of seating so you are sure to fit everyone in with room to spare. Each row is treated with luxury options so that comfort is a priority, right up there with safety.

2023 showed the Wagoneer growing in popularity and size, winning awards and gaining more cabin space for people and things. The longer version of the Wagoneer is the Wagoneer L. The latest model year saw a few changes, such as the loss of the HEMI, which might be sad if the Wagoneer wasn’t so appealing to families.

The natural progression of the Wagoneer and Wagoneer L would be to add a hybrid option. This would split the difference between the traditional options and the Wagoneer S. Plus, if Jeep has proven anything, it is that hybrid versions of their classics perform quite well in more ways than one. A hybrid version makes perfect sense, letting families and individuals cash in on the savings without going fully electric.

Plug-in hybrids seem to be a more popular option as of late, offering a bit more in terms of benefits than the alternative hybrid option. A plug-in hybrid can still get charge from regenerative braking, but it can also be plugged in to get more juice, quicker. It would be exciting to see a hybrid variant of any kind for the Wagoneer, but at this point only time will tell.

The Future of the Wagoneer Is Electrifying

It’s obvious that the future of the Wagoneer is electric, in one way or another. The S is changing everything for the nameplate, offering an incredible opportunity to meld past and present for a promising tomorrow. We know the S is in the works and will be released soon enough, but what about what we don’t know? One thing is for sure: whatever Jeep has in store for the Wagoneer, it is guaranteed to be a hit.

From a nameplate in the dust to the next big thing in the industry, the Wagoneer is an SUV to keep your eye on. Whether you are looking forward to the next model year of the traditional Wagoneer, crossing your fingers for a hybrid version, or saving up for the incredible Wagoneer S, the Jeep Wagoneer is here to stay.
