Have you ever gone on an Easter Egg hunt? You don’t have to celebrate Easter to enjoy the experience of hunting through a neighborhood looking for the gorgeously colored eggs. The folks at Jeep decided that the fun of an Easter Egg shouldn’t happen just once a year. That is why they placed so many fun, little hidden features all over the Jeep Wrangler, starting with the fourth-generation model introduced in the 2018 model year. Jeep Wrangler enthusiasts have been busying themselves looking for all of these great Jeep Wrangler Easter Eggs. Now is the perfect time to visit a used Jeep Wrangler dealer and join the hunt for yourself.

At Zimmer Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, we have a full lineup of new, used, and certified pre-owned Jeep models. Folks in Kentucky know us as the premier used Jeep Wrangler dealer, as there is no Easter Egg hunt at our dealership to find a used model that suits you perfectly. That is because we carry a vast inventory of used Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited models, all at affordable prices. Let’s look at some of the exciting features waiting to be discovered.

1. Removable Roof and Door Panels

Some Easter Eggs on the Jeep Wrangler are more apparent than others. Also, some Easter Eggs are functional, while others are more cosmetic. The removable roof and side panels on the Jeep Wrangler might be the most poorly hidden Easter Egg, but they are at the same time one of the most functional. Few things are as much fun as driving a Jeep Wrangler in warm weather months with the doors and roof off. Those other folks can keep their convertibles when you’ve got a Jeep Wrangler, with air flowing in from all sides. Besides, you will have a hard time going off-roading in a convertible coupe or sedan.

The removable roof and doors on the Wrangler are arguably the most iconic feature of this vehicle. That is because the original Willys Overland model came without a roof or doors. To bring back the old days, all you have to do is follow the simple instructions, take these parts off, and safely store them in the Wrangler’s trunk. There is even a special storage area in the trunk to place the bolts you took out to remove the roof, doors, and side panels.

2. Folding Windscreen

Harkening back to the old days of the automotive industry, Jeep Wrangler has a slightly less well-known feature. If you’ve ever seen some of those old Bugs Bunny cartoons, when Bugs goes out for a drive, he usually puts on a hat and a pair of goggles. That’s because many old cars either had a folding windscreen or no windscreen at all. Jeep allows you to emulate those old days of driving by folding down that windscreen, and you will be driving with the air rushing past your face and hair.

This might not be much of an Easter Egg, but here are a few helpful hints. First, Bugs Bunny knew what he was doing when putting on those goggles. If you are going to drive your Jeep Wrangler with the windscreen folded down, you and your passengers had better wear a pair of sunglasses or other eye gear to protect from the wind. Also, you should take a page from motorcyclists and try not to open your mouth while driving unless you want a little Easter Egg from Mother Nature to fly into your mouth. Well, not really an Easter Egg, but more like a flying insect.

3. Easy Clean Up Interior

Another Easter Egg that is more practical than cosmetic is the Jeep Wrangler’s easy clean-up interior. The designers at Jeep know that many of you plan to use your Wrangler for off-roading and other outdoor adventures. In addition, riding with the roof, doors, and panels off and the windscreen down will expose your Wrangler to the elements. As a result, the Jeep Wrangler comes with an interior designed to make it easy to clean up.

The weather-resistant carpet is removable, so take it out and clean it separately. Then take a hose and rinse out the inside of your Jeep. You can do this because there are one-way floor drain valves in the Wrangler. Open the valves and get cleaning!

4. Hidden Storage Spaces

The designers at Jeep understand the need for storage, and not just in the Wrangler’s surprisingly roomy trunk. Look around the Jeep’s trunk, and you will see little storage bins and compartments ideal for storing all manner of gear and equipment. Now go into the passenger space and continue with the Easter Egg hunt. Check the doors and even the floor, and you will see plenty of compartments that are ideal for storing all kinds of things. There’s a secret compartment located in the center console that is perfect for storing things you want to keep hidden. Jeep even placed a lockbox under the front seat, which is perfect if you want to store your valuables when you drive your Wrangler to the beach or lake for a nice afternoon swim!

5. Hidden Images

The most playful part of the Jeep Wrangler Easter Egg hunt is searching for all the little hidden images the Jeep designers have placed throughout the vehicle. Some are etched in glass, while others are embossed into the exterior frame or interior trim. Start by looking at the windshield. If you look closely, you will see a Willys Jeep image by the edge. Now take a look under the windshield wipers on some models, and you will find a black lizard looking back at you. When you get inside your Wrangler, look down at the floor mats and see a topographical map of the Moab desert with a crossed shovel and pickaxe. Open the gas tank on other models, and you’ll see a cute little spider saying, “Ciao Baby!”

These hidden images show the playful nature of the Wrangler, a rugged vehicle that is also built for fun. Some of the other things you will find by looking around your Jeep Wrangler are a Loch Ness Monster, Bigfoot, an American flag, and a T. Rex. This placement of different images has created an online community of Jeep Wrangler owners, each one searching for these fun, little Easter Eggs throughout their vehicles. In addition, the designers at Jeep have placed the famous Wrangler grille as a design motif throughout the vehicle, hidden in plain sight in such places as the inside of the trunk door, the rearview mirror, the stereo system’s speakers, and even the headlights and tail lights!

6. Morse Code

Maybe this isn’t what Samuel Morse intended when he created his system of dashes and dots to send messages around the world. However, Jeep has incorporated this into the design for the Wrangler. For example, in the space where the clutch would be on Wranglers with automatic transmission, Jeep has placed a pad with the words “sand, snow, rivers, rocks” spelled out in Morse code. These are the different types of terrain and conditions that your Wrangler was built to handle.
There is also another place with Morse code. Embossed into the dashboard is a stylized JL with Morse code spelling out the letters JL. This is because this is the fourth generation of the Jeep Wrangler, which was designated JL. The reason for JL is that the third-generation Wrangler was designated JK.

Searching for all these Easter Eggs on the Jeep Wrangler makes owning one more fun than practically any other vehicle on the road today.
