New Standard Equipment on the 2025 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

When Jeep revived the Wagoneer nameplate to grace an all-new full-size SUV for the 2022 model year, the company went to great lengths to show its customers how special this model was. For a few years, “Wagoneer by Jeep” was considered a separate sub-brand, emphasizing the extra level of luxury provided by the Wagoneer name.
While the Wagoneer is now more firmly considered part of the Jeep lineup (it has always had the iconic seven-slot grille and legendary off-road prowess of a Jeep, after all), it continues to deliver a heightened level of luxury to drivers who want a plush and comfortable cabin to relax in after a long day of roughing it in the wilderness. If you want the highest level of this luxury, you can upgrade to the Grand Wagoneer.
This ultra-premium model is the one we’ll be diving into today. While still firmly in its first generation, the 2025 Jeep Grand Wagoneer received some significant updates for the new model year. Some of the biggest news is the number of features that have become standard across the lineup. This model, like any other, has a variety of trim levels that let you strike your own balance between included features and price tag. However, a wider range of standard features on the base model helps cement its status as a true luxury model.
Horsepower Boost
While many of the now-standard features for the 2025 model year were already available on higher trim levels in previous model years, we’re going to start by diving into something that’s completely new for the 2025 Grand Wagoneer: a re-tuned engine that delivers even more power. One of the big advantages the Grand Wagoneer has always had over its less-grand Wagoneer sibling is a high-output version of its 3.0L Hurricane turbocharged I-6 engine. Looking at the 2024 model year, you can see the difference: the Wagoneer’s engine produced 420 hp and 468 lb-ft of torque, while the Grand Wagoneer’s produced 510 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque.
For the 2025 model year, the gap between the two models grows as the Grand Wagoneer gains even more power. With 540 hp and 521 lb-ft of torque now at its disposal, this SUV can accelerate faster and deliver more off-road thrills. While a boost like this sometimes comes with a major sacrifice, Jeep’s engineers have worked hard to avoid these trade-offs. The new engine maintains its same fuel economy rating and produces fewer emissions than in previous years, making it a well-rounded improvement. As the Grand Wagoneer’s sole powertrain, the new engine provides these benefits to the entire lineup, including the base trim.

Safety & Driver Assists
The 2024 Grand Wagoneer already came standard with a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assist features. Of course, basics like automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control are becoming common across all segments of the automotive market. However, as a luxury vehicle, the Grand Wagoneer goes above and beyond with standard blind spot detection, parking sensors, and other features that are especially helpful on a large vehicle like a full-size SUV.
For the 2025 model year, even more technologies have been added to the list of standard features. Like the others, these help you stay aware of your surroundings from behind the wheel so you can avoid danger. These features are programmed to step in during particularly difficult situations, so you can combat distractions and stay safe.
Being tired behind the wheel can make you more prone to accidents, but it can be hard to notice when you’ve become too tired to drive because you’re also too tired to accurately assess your mental state. That’s where Drowsy Driver Detection steps in. Using a sophisticated algorithm based on steering behavior, this system gives you a notification when drowsiness is detected, giving you a chance to pull over, grab a hot drink, and rest before getting back on the road.
Sometimes, a momentary distraction can cause you to miss an important sign, like a change in speed limit. While some navigation apps can show you the current speed limit, they are often unreliable and out of date. With Traffic Sign Recognition, you can simply check the dashboard for any relevant signs. Since the system uses a vehicle-mounted camera instead of a database, it doesn’t rely on an internet connection and will only get data from currently posted signs.
Forward collision alert and automatic emergency braking are important features that have made drivers, passengers, and pedestrians safer out on the road. However, this feature alone only senses obstacles directly in front of the vehicle. At a busy intersection, it’s important to be aware of traffic coming from either side as well. With more advanced sensors, Intersection Collision Assist is able to detect this traffic and use alerts and automatic braking to avoid collisions and keep you safe.

Front Passenger Amenities
A good luxury vehicle doesn’t just provide comfort and convenience for the driver—it also makes every passenger feel like they’re being well taken care of. The 2024 Grand Wagoneer already provided plenty of comfort features for the entire cabin. The base model came standard with heated and ventilated seats for both the driver and front passenger, as well as heated rear seats. The front passenger also received a 14-way power-adjustable seat and a dedicated climate control zone to ensure that everything is just to their liking.
For the 2025 model, two new features are expanding from the driver seat to the front passenger seat. The first is seat position memory for the front passenger. This feature comes in handy if you often switch off driving duties with a partner, friend, or family member. Instead of needing to manually adjust the seat’s height, tilt, lumbar support, and more one by one, you can simply save your preferred settings to the memory. Then, at the push of a button, you can get them back just the way you like them. Now, you can enjoy this luxury whether you’re the one behind the wheel or enjoying the ride while you rest.
The front passenger seat now comes standard with its own touchscreen as well. This 10.25-inch display serves a variety of functions. Perhaps most importantly, it can be used for co-pilot duties, allowing the front passenger to manage the navigation controls so the driver can keep their focus on the road. It can also be used to view exterior cameras, so you can see what’s going on if you hear a strange noise or suspect there might be a low-lying obstacle. But since this is a luxury vehicle, the screen isn’t just pragmatic. It can also be used for entertainment, allowing you to watch movies and other videos via HDMI, the in-vehicle infotainment system, or Amazon Fire TV. With a world of entertainment at your disposal, getting there really will be half the fun.
