Another feature to factor in here is the Wrangler 4xe‘s ability to run solely on electricity. This plug-in hybrid model can traverse 21 miles on battery power alone. When you combine the electric and gasoline aspects of the powertrain using the Hybrid mode, you can drive for up to 370 miles. ESave mode lets you save your electric power for later, prioritizing the Wrangler 4xe’s turbocharged engine.

The best news? You can choose from three of Jeep’s top trim levels, including the Sahara, the Rubicon, and the High Altitude. So, yes––you can get a hardcore off-roading 4xe Rubicon. The Wrangler 4xe’s hybrid drivetrain does not negatively affect its ability to climb, ford through water, or push through the mud. You can still cross up to 30 inches of water with no problems, depending on the Wrangler 4xe’s hybrid power to take you anywhere you want to go.

Charging the Wrangler 4xe doesn’t have to be a challenge either, thanks to two available at-home charging station options. The Level 1 charger will easily charge the Wrangler overnight in 12 hours. The quicker Level 2 charger can fully charge the Wrangler 4xe in as little as 2 hours. So, if you’re used to a regular gasoline-powered engine, don’t be intimidated by plug-in hybrid power. It’s easy to adjust to, and Jeep will even install your home charger for you!

2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe

The Grand Cherokee 4xe is the model you’ll see in those “behind-the-scenes” Jurassic World Dominion videos. There’s less “rolling over giant hills” and more “cleaning up dino droppings” with the Grand Cherokee. In other words, this is a more “family-friendly” vehicle. So, if you’re a bit more family-oriented and need the extra room, consider the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe instead of the Wrangler 4xe.

This is also a better model for drivers with larger campers or items that require a heavier tow capacity than what the Wrangler can offer. You can utilize up to 70.8 cu.ft. of cargo space in this model, plus a 6,000 lb towing capacity that can handle many midsize to full-size campers. If you liked seeing the Wrangler 4xe on-screen, but it’s just not practical enough for your own everyday life, the Grand Cherokee 4xe is for you.

Just because you’re taking the family-friendly route doesn’t mean you can’t still hit the woods. The Grand Cherokee 4xe can sneak by deer, bears, and dinosaurs too. This is especially true when you choose the Trailhawk trim––a model designed specifically for off-roading. No matter which trim level you choose though, you can welcome 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque, all while maintaining 56 MPGe. Like the Wrangler 4xe, you’ll get Hybrid, Electric, and ESave drive modes.

You can even go a little further in the Grand Cherokee 4xe’s electric mode than you can in the Wrangler’s with a 25-mile all-electric range. Plus, the Grand Cherokee 4xe has a 470-mile total range compared to the Wrangler 4xe’s max 370-mile range. Of course, the Wrangler is the off-roading master. But when you need a quiet model that can do a little bit of it all––towing, off-roading, and family-hauling––check out the 2022 Grand Cherokee 4xe.

What About the Gladiator?

Okay, truthfully, the Jeep Gladiator was anything but silent in Jurassic World Dominion––but it certainly was present in all its powerful glory. Those decked-out, roughed-up Jeep trucks you saw throughout the movie weren’t 4xe models, that’s true. However, there are rumors that a Jeep Gladiator 4xe model is in the making (fingers crossed!).

While nothing is confirmed, the good news is that the regular 2022 Gladiator is already here and is available with both gasoline and diesel engine options. Sure, you can’t quietly traverse the woods in the new Jeep truck, but you can certainly get some towing and hauling done. The gasoline model can tow as much as 7,650 lbs, with the diesel engine coming in second at 6,500 lbs. Plus, you get that awesome truck bed on a vehicle that otherwise looks almost identical to a Wrangler.

You can also take the Gladiator off-roading despite its longer wheelbase. In fact, you can even snatch a decked-out Rubicon model if you really want off-roading power.
