Are you considering a Certified Pre-Owned Chrysler for your next car? Chrysler has an excellent Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) program backed by a generous manufacturer’s warranty to protect your investment for many years of ownership, and only vehicles that pass the strictest standards are included. Despite the outstanding coverage that comes automatically with the purchase of every Chrysler CPO vehicle, you may still want to expand that coverage for more peace of mind. In the past, you may have heard that Chrysler offers a lifetime warranty and may wonder if it’s still available. Though Chrysler did make a lifetime warranty available at one time, that offer has been replaced with other warranty options we will share below.

Standard Warranty for Chrysler CPOs

Every vehicle sold as a Chrysler CPO comes with warranty coverage to protect your vehicle’s powertrain for seven years or 100,000 miles. With the Limited Powertrain Warranty, your vehicle’s protection begins on the date of its original sale, and it includes most aspects of the powertrain, transmission, engine, and driveline. If you need repairs that require a visit to a Chrysler service center, you should expect to pay a deductible for service. In addition to the powertrain coverage, every Chrysler CPO will also come with a few extras to protect you and your vehicle during your ownership.

Outside of the powertrain coverage, if your vehicle still falls in the range of its original three-year or 36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, that coverage still applies. Once that coverage ends, Chrysler gives your CPO another three months or 3,000 miles of the same coverage. Chrysler also rewards CPO buyers with a Car Rental Allowance to make sure you don’t have to go without a vehicle when it needs repairs, and coverage for towing or roadside assistance is included, too. For buyers who would like more coverage as a safeguard against any potential concerns, Chrysler offers a number of options for upgrading your warranty.

What Happened to the Lifetime Warranty?

If you heard about the former offer of the Lifetime Warranty Chrysler once made available, you may have wanted to know how you could choose this option for your own Chrysler purchase. Unfortunately, Chrysler only made this warranty available for a short time, and it was no longer offered after 2018. For owners who were fortunate enough to purchase this warranty coverage when it was available, these deals are still being honored by Chrysler as originally promised. There were two different “lifetime warranty” plans offered between 2007 and 2018, but both have been discontinued.

If you happen to be one of the lucky few who were able to take advantage of this program, you can rest easy knowing you’re covered! It’s always a good idea to read the literature about your purchased warranty coverage so that you know how to keep it in good standing, but as long as you adhere to the original requirements, your coverage is guaranteed. Sadly, these generous warranties are not transferrable once the original owner sells the vehicle, so even if you purchase a CPO vehicle that was once covered by a Lifetime Warranty, that offer will not be included with the purchase.

Upgrades to CPO Warranties

While the Powertrain Limited Warranty covers a wide number of your vehicle’s components, you may want more coverage so you can feel more at ease about your investment in a CPO. Chrysler understands that CPO owners want the assurance their vehicles will last over time, so complements to the standard warranties are available. Three choices of plans are options open to those who purchase a Chrysler CPO today, and they include the Powertrain Care, Added Care Plus, and Maximum Care warranty additions.

With the Powertrain Care addition, Chrysler takes the original powertrain coverage and includes components of your steering system, your key fob, and up to $1,000 in trip interruption expenses. For more inclusive coverage, Chrysler offers its Added Care plan. All the coverage of the Powertrain Care plan is included, plus you gain coverage for your air conditioning system, engine cooling and fuel systems, the electrical system, brakes, and more. If you want the most expansive coverage plan that’s as close to the former Lifetime Warranty as possible, the Maximum Care plan includes all the elements of the Added Care plan and then brings in components such as the suspension and a full mechanical repair to include up to 7,000 components.

Additional Coverage Available

For buyers who may still want more services covered than are available under the certified warranty programs for your Chrysler CPO, there are options for maintenance, security, and even tire care. With the Road Hazard Tire and Wheel Protection plan, you never need to worry about obstacles or potholes in the road again. Your tires will be protected with this plan that will repair or replace your tires if you encounter damage from the condition of the road. To assist you in the case of the theft of your Chrysler CPO, the Chrysler Tech Vehicle Theft Deterrent plan is there to offer help in the form of reimbursement for rental fees, airfare, and even toward the purchase of a new vehicle if yours isn’t recovered.

Maintenance shouldn’t be a chore, so if you want to make some of your auto care easier on your wallet over time, you can purchase the Lube, Oil, Oil Filter Change Package. With this coverage, you spread the cost of maintenance over time, from one to six years, so you can always drive into our service center with confidence that your costs are covered for these services. Finally, buying a Chrysler deserves to be a mark of pride. Keeping your Chrysler CPO in beautiful condition can be as easy as buying the Auto Appearance Care plan, which means you can always stop by our dealership for paintless dent repair so that your paint job stays pristine.
