A Plethora of Tech Distinguishes the Ultra-Luxury Grand Wagoneer

Finding a true high-end luxury SUV became a lot easier when the Grand Wagoneer hit showrooms last year. For 2022, this segment disruptor continues capturing market share for many reasons, not the least of which is the long list of premium features found in its sumptuous cabin. Test drive one at Zimmer Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, your Cincinnati Grand Wagoneer dealer, and you’ll notice the difference immediately.
The word sumptuous is typically reserved for food reviews, but it fits the Grand Wagoneer perfectly. Inside the spacious cabin are too many upscale appointments to count. A quick scan of the spec sheet reveals that most features are counted in double digits: 24-way power seats, 75 inches of total digital display screens, a 23-speaker audio system…and that’s only the beginning. What do you look for in a luxury SUV? From power and capability to expansive safety and convenience features, the Grand Wagoneer delivers across the board.
Supporting your purchase and ownership experience is a team of dedicated Wagoneer Client Services professionals who are here to walk you through each step. It’s yet another perk of Grand Wagoneer ownership. Four trims, a variety of eye-catching exterior colors, and tech galore: it’s time to discover the 2022 Grand Wagoneer. Here are just a few of our favorite luxury features.
Technology and Touchscreens
Perhaps the first thing you’ll notice when you slide behind the wheel of a Grand Wagoneer is the expansive array of screens and digital displays. In total, there are 75 inches of digital displays, including a segment-first dedicated front passenger touchscreen. These screens both automate most commands, such as climate control and smartphone integration, and display key vehicle data.
The primary infotainment touchscreen sits front-and-center in the dash. It’s a landscape-oriented 12-inch screen that runs on the Uconnect 5 operating system, which is the most advanced version currently available. Drivers will find a highly responsive capacitive touchscreen with a crisp, full-color display. Flush mounted over the glove box is a 10.25-inch passenger interactive display that lets your front seat passenger help with navigation or take over the cabin audio. They can also stream content independent of the main infotainment system.
Sitting in the driver’s line of sight is a 12.3-inch driver information digital cluster display. This customizable feature clearly displays important data like current speed, navigation cues, and fuel level. Yet another 10.25-inch screen found just below the main infotainment touchscreen is dedicated to seat adjustments. It features a clear display of each seat and multiple configuration settings for both seat position and temperature, as well as massage. This screen folds out of the way when not in use, revealing a wireless phone charger and USB ports.
Rear seat passengers are in for a treat with their own available dual-screen entertainment center. Two 10.1-inch displays are mounted on the back of both front seats. They can be operated together or independently, including streaming Amazon Fire TV. The entertainment system is incredibly helpful for keeping kids entertained on long drives, especially since the kids also have a 10.25-inch display mounted to the rear center console for controlling seats, climate, and ambient lighting.
McIntosh Sound System
Have you heard of McIntosh? Your mind might go to a certain tech giant named after the same fruit, but actually, McIntosh Labs is the premier designer of luxury home audio and home theater sound systems. The Grand Wagoneer is the automotive industry’s first recipient of a McIntosh-designed premium audio system. In fact, this system is custom-tuned to optimize cabin acoustics.
As the company announced in a 2020 press release, the Grand Wagoneer’s 23-speaker premium audio system is the only one of its kind. The company says the system is designed to “carry forward McIntosh’s sound philosophy” with “acoustics that are powerful, authentic, transparent and detailed.” Clearly, this is no ordinary car stereo. It even won the prestigious Best of the Best award from Robb Report.
The system connects seamlessly––and wirelessly––with your smartphone via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Your favorite playlist will burst forth with 1375 watts of power, sent via a 24-channel amp. The 23 speakers include a 12-inch subwoofer that’s arguably the highest performing in the industry. Speakers are placed strategically in 16 locations throughout the cabin for an “immersive surround sound experience.”
The McIntosh system relies on Adaptive 3D Surround Processing to deliver concert-grade sound. It combines with the company’s other mobile audio advancements, Power Guard and Low Distortion/High Performance (LD/HP) speaker design, to create a rich, tonal output that rivals any home audio configuration. You’ll even find four 2-inch speakers nestled into the headliner for a true surround-sound experience. The system includes blue backlit meters and aluminum surrounds on the control knobs, along with an illuminated McIntosh logo display.
Interior Appointments and Finishes
Luxury takes on a whole new identity inside a Grand Wagoneer. Across the four-trim lineup, you’ll find seriously upscale finishes that feel like they belong in a Gulfstream jet. The top-of-the-line Grand Wagoneer Series III includes quilted Palermo leather seating with a massage feature, heated and ventilated front and rear seats, and a supple suede headliner. Warm, natural walnut wood interior accenting is seen throughout the cabin.
Series III buyers can choose from three available interior colors: a rich Blue Agave, Global Black, or a two-tone Tupelo/Black, which combines a caramel beige with black stitching. The available embossed metal accenting adds a stamped, mesh-like trim to the dash and console area for a modern, minimalist appearance. It’s these small, customizable features that allow buyers to truly tailor their Grand Wagoneer to the exact color scheme they desire.
The Grand Wagoneer features standard four-zone automatic climate control, allowing front and rear passengers to dial in the temperature they want via dedicated touchscreens for easy adjusting. With three rows of seats and seating for up to eight passengers, the Grand Wagoneer offers the most overall passenger volume in the category, including the most second and third-row legroom.
Where else but the Grand Wagoneer will you find personalized ambient lighting? Interior lighting becomes more than just a convenience once you have access to Relaxation Mode, a setting that displays calming images on all three screens along with soothing audio to create a bubble of calm in the cabin. Imagine hitting Relaxation Mode and taking a break next time you’re waiting in the parking lot as your kid finishes soccer practice.

Luxury Meets Capability in the Grand Wagoneer
Alongside all of its next-generation technology and luxury, the Grand Wagoneer presents a compelling case with its long list of class-leading capabilities. All Grand Wagoneer trims are powered by a 6.4-liter V8 engine that delivers 470 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque, providing enough power to tow just shy of 10,000 pounds. That’s plenty of power for the family boat, a pair of snowmobiles, or your RV.
With its retro front grille, available premium color-tinted glass, and dramatic LED exterior lighting, the Grand Wagoneer’s exterior is almost as high-end as its cabin. Add the tri-pane sunroof and saturate the cabin with natural light. You and your passengers will also enjoy the power-retractable running boards for easy loading and unloading. Finally, you can choose from a large selection of wheels to truly customize your Grand Wagoneer’s exterior look.
As you zero in on the luxury SUV of your dreams, make sure to test drive the Grand Wagoneer here at Zimmer Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. You won’t find a longer list of unique premium features or advanced technology on any other vehicle in the category. And, your Grand Wagoneer boasts the most interior passenger space, so the whole family can sit back, relax, and enjoy the journey.
