Ram 2500 Dealership

Visiting a Ram 2500 dealership can be a bit intimidating. First, youā€™re surrounded by monstrous, powerful Ram trucks towering above you on their impressively capable chassis. Youā€™ve got to make a slew of choices to help you build the perfect heavy-duty truck for your lifestyle and budget, and youā€™ve got all sorts of different numbers and specs running through your head. Itā€™s easy to see how a less-than-honest salesperson could throw you into a loop of confusion. Before you know it, youā€™ve driven off the lot, and youā€™re still not sure where your money is going.

Zimmer Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram understands that many of the people who pull into the dealership are expecting this type of experience. Theyā€™ve been burnt in the past, and theyā€™re going to do their best not to get taken for a ride again. But at Zimmer, we have made a pledge to make things different. Our ideal is to gain customers for life. A customer who doesnā€™t trust a business doesnā€™t return to a business over and over again, but a customer who finds what they need and receives upfront, honest service will be back as soon as they can.

Of course, honesty and integrity arenā€™t just good business practices - theyā€™re the very foundation upon which Zimmer was born. The Plymouth franchise started in northern Kentucky by Ed Zimmer in 1929 may look a lot different nearly 100 years later, but the principles driving our staff remain the same. Family-owned and operated to this day, we strive not just to move vehicles but to gain the trust and respect of our community and to create relationships with our customers that last a lifetime. Whether youā€™re looking for a brand new Ram 2500 in a specific trim and color, or youā€™re interested in learning more about the Ram line of trucks, we welcome you to Zimmer Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.

What Is the Ram 2500?

In 1981, the world got its first Dodge Ram. Twenty-eight years later, Ram would become a standalone brand of its own as Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep reorganized to accommodate the new Fiat Group acquisition. Today, the Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 remain some of the most recognizable and powerful vehicles offered under the Stellantis umbrella of automobiles.

The Ram 2500 we know today was first produced in 2013 as a redesign of the old standard. At the time these 2500s were coming off the line, Ram Truck Brand President and CEO Fred Diaz shared his excitement with the world, stating, ā€œTo answer the needs and wants of our customers, Ram Truck has taken a big step forward in capability while improving cost of ownership and efficiency. The 2013 Ram Heavy Duty allows you to push and pull more than any competitor, and the truck looks great doing it.ā€

Drivers were familiar with Ram trucks - the dependable stand-bys that often out-performed other trucks on the worksite - but the new 2013 Ram 2500 was able to offer mind-blowing power. The standard 5.7L HEMI V8 engine provides 383 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque, while the famous 6.7L Cummins High-Output Turbo Diesel I-6 offers 350 horsepower and 660 lb-ft of torque.

However, what makes the Ram 2500 so driver-friendly isnā€™t what lies under the hood, though that certainly is a very strong selling point. Itā€™s the fact that the 2013 Ram 2500 was designed to be driven by real people, with features like the 8.4-inch Uconnect system, a choice of bucket or bench seats, and intuitive storage in the consoles. This is a truck that not only knows how to be mighty and get the job done but is an actual pleasure to drive, as well.

2021 Ram 2500

Drivers like you have plenty of truck options in front of them, so what makes the 2021 Ram 2500 so special? Perhaps the most enduring quality of the Ram 2500 is that even after six generations, it continues to be a modestly priced truck that can take on monstrous jobs. The 2021 Ram 2500 comes with a choice of the standard 6.4L HEMI V8 engine with Variable-Cam Timing, which results in Best-In-Class standard 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. The result is a maximum towing capacity of 17,540 pounds and a payload maximum of 4,010 pounds. For those who wish to honor the long-running relationship between Ram and Cummins, the available 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel I6 has been super-tuned for even greater duty. Providing an earth-shattering 850 lb-ft of torque and 370 horsepower, this particular engine can tow up to 19,680 pounds and manage payloads up to 3,160.

Best of all, the Ram 2500 is equipped with features that make driving, towing, and stowing easier than ever. With trims ranging from the base Tradesman to the trim-topping Limited, and with the off-road ready Power Wagon reporting for duty, drivers can select the cab and box size that makes sense for them. They can also enjoy power-fold tow mirrors, a 360-degree Surround View Camera with Trailer Camera Prep for interior views of your load, and a Bed Lowering Mode, part of the Auto-Level Rear Air Suspension option. Throw in the RamBox system to add side bed storage bins that can lock away your valuables and include a 115V power outlet without compromising too much bed space. With plenty of options and customizations available, itā€™s easier than ever to turn the Ram 2500 into your ideal work partner.

Zimmer Should Be Your Ram 2500 Destination

Walter Chrysler was already heating up the automotive world in 1928 when he decided to offer a new, low-priced automobile that would shake up the segment dominated by Ford and Chevrolet. He named his new vehicle the Plymouth, after the ā€œendurance and strength, the rugged honesty, the enterprise, the determination of achievement and the freedom from old limitations of that Pilgrim band who were the first American colonists,ā€ according to the press.

This spirit of forging new pathways created the Model Q, which led to the Model U in 1929. In Northern Kentucky, Ed Zimmer established his own car dealership, which focused on selling these brand new Plymouth models. Plenty of things have changed in the years since: Desotos and Studebakers once graced the Zimmer lots, which also moved and grew just as the city of Florence and the freeways surrounding the city expanded. A staff of 17 became a staff of 50. Current managers Catherine, John, and Rich Zimmer started their tenure in 1981. Jeeps were added to the roster, and as technology developed, the Zimmer family dealership adapted to include the amazing new tools of the trade.

Today, a trip to our dealership on Burlington Pike Road in Florence will reveal a wide array of vehicles Ed Zimmer may have never have imagined in his wildest dreams, but the spirit of rugged honesty and determination lives on at Zimmer Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.
