Help Us Feed Hungry Kids!

We’re “going big or going home” with the “Roll for a Ride” Giveaway solely to raise money for GO Pantry, an organization that significantly impacts the children in our community and one we’re proud to support year after year.

In addition to raising money at the Fireworks, we’ll be collecting food at our dealership again this November for the GO Pantry “Christmas Go Box” campaign. These fundraising efforts, combined with the numerous others the organization does, allow GO Pantry to fulfill its mission as a non-profit community outreach providing food for hungry kids in NKY on days schools are not open.

Since 2012, GO Pantry has been helping feed local kids in need. Extended school breaks are especially daunting for many kids in our community. There are kids in every school who rely on the Free & Reduced Lunch Program for meals during the school year. When school isn’t in session, their primary food source doesn’t exist. With our and your help, GO Pantry is able to provide emergency food relief to local students who might otherwise go without.

GO Pantry takes the food they collect, subsidizes what wasn’t donated with monetary donations received, and assembles “meal boxes” for children to take home over extended breaks from school to prevent them from going hungry. The food boxes go to kids identified by their schools in Boone, Kenton, Campbell, and Grant counties in Northern Kentucky and Dearborn County in Southeast Indiana.

At Zimmer, we want to do as much as we possibly can to help. That’s why we’re willing to give away a $32,000 New Jeep Wrangler Sport as a thank you to those who help us help GO Pantry.

The first 300 people who make a minimum donation to GO Pantry on Sunday, September 4th, will have a chance to roll each of our six 16-inch dice one at a time to try and spell “Zimmer.” The first guest who spells our name by rolling the dice will win a $32,000 Jeep Wrangler Sport! Don’t worry; even if you don’t spell “ZIMMER,” we have a ton of other ways the dice will make you a winner! It’s a win-win for everyone, and we know you’re gonna LOVE IT!

WEBN Fireworks at Riverfest: Event History

Officially known as the Western & Southern WEBN Fireworks at Riverfest, the event started in 1977 when the local WEBN-FM radio station planned a city-wide party to celebrate its 10th year on the air. The station promoted the event on the air and in the newspaper, anticipating a modest crowd for their Tuesday night event. They saw no reason to designate parking or ask the police to help with traffic, so they were genuinely surprised when thousands of people crowded the streets to celebrate. Free fireworks and music by the river were all the enticement needed.

Over the years, the fireworks display evolved into an all-day event known as WEBN Fireworks at Riverfest and became a favorite tradition among Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati residents; and is officially the largest single-day event in the Midwest. Over 300,000 people stand on the Ohio River riverbank all day long, enjoying the celebration that will culminate with 40 minutes of fabulous fireworks. On September 4th, 2022, we celebrate that tradition again while giving back to those in need. So, we’ll ask again, “Are you ready to celebrate?”

WEBN Fireworks at Riverfest: Event Details

The official celebration will begin at noon on Sunday, September 4th, when WEBN will start their live broadcast from Sawyer Point Park & Yeatman’s Cove. Zimmer and GO Pantry will be by the stage and ready to “Roll for a Ride” all day! Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks will wrap up this legendary tradition at 9:00 PM on the Ohio River.

WEBN Fireworks at Riverfest: Directions to the Event

Visitors from northwest Cincinnati near the Cincinnati Museum Center can take I-75 S Exit 1A to Second St. W and Exit 1B from I-75 S. Second St. W leads directly to the venue on E Pete Rose Way. For those coming from northeast of the city near Evanston, you can take I-71 S to E Court St and Eggleston Ave to the Ohio River Scenic Byway/E Pete Rose Way.

Kentucky drivers can easily make their way to the venue using major inbound routes like I-471 N, which leads straight to the venue. The Taylor Southgate Bridge is another excellent option, taking drivers past the Newport Aquarium in Kentucky directly to Sawyer Point Park & Yeatman’s Cove in Cincinnati. Other options include the Clay Wade Bailey Bridge, the Brent Spence Bridge on I-71, and the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge, all convenient options.
